The 2015 plan

I just realized I should hit 100,000 views on Tuesday :) Nice!!!

Ok, the plans for 2015 are (in random order):

1. Run a 1-miler under 7:00
Plan - Get used to being uncomfortable, do all the Hanson speed workouts. Go hard and ignore the pain for 6+ minutes. Planning to break it in Cincinnati.

2. Run a half under 2:00
Plan - train for it. I'm using the Hansons program to get ready for the Piggie, so I'm in serious training mode. While the weather has me confined indoors, every run has been 9:20 or faster. Most are in the upper 8s. Asked Nancy to pace me at the Rock CF half. She routinely runs under 2 hours, and it certainly can't hurt to have someone other than my watch for pace.

3. Run a full under 4:50
Plan - Keep doing what I did in Chicago, where I basically ran under 4:50. My official time was 4:54, but I wasted 3-4 minutes on a bathroom stop, and I was 0.3 miles over distance, so that's another few minutes, right?

4. Save $... to my IRA
Plan - eat out less, curtail the incidental spending and stick to it.

5. Hit my goal weight!!!
Plan - hit it by Valentines Day, which gives me approximately six weeks. I'll need to reduce my consumption by approximately 500 calories a day, either through eating less and/or exercising. I lost almost 30 pounds in nine months in 2009, and have been horsing around with the last five ever since then. As of this morning, I have 4.2 to go. In the grand scheme, it doesn't matter, but it'll take me back to the lowest weight of my adult life.

  1. I haven't been keeping up on my blogs recently, but I'm happy I popped by this afternoon. You've got a great 2015 plan that sounds achievable. I can't wait to see how things pan out for you and now I need to get my own 2015 plan in place.
