When I went to Vietnam, I figured I'd be fine health-wise. If anything would happen, I assumed it would be a mosquito-borne tropical disease. Yellow fever kept coming to mind.
Instead, I fell getting into a hammock the very first night. My bed had the consistency of a blue gym mat, so that wasn't helping matters any. Then I spent hours riding on the back of a scooter.
Several days later, my tailbone still feels bruised. It only bothers me when I sit on it, lay down on my back, or run. Last night, it felt better after a few ibuprofen, so I might try that again pre-run.
Dr. Google says the only real treatment is rest; ice and ibuprofen if they help, but it can take several weeks to heal.
What a pain :(
