I did a great job of training in January. Even though the weather was horrendous, I did nearly all my prescribed runs; I missed two all month long. It was boring and many many times I didn't want to run, yet I kept forcing myself because January is all about building stamina.
February 1st. Within an hour of coming home from work, I had a horrible cough. I laid down on the couch and didn't move because the slightest shift caused my entire body to shake from the cough.
Then I got woozy
Then the rivers of snot started
And the cough continued
And my whole body hurt
And I lost everything from February 1-10, including all the stamina I built up over the entire month of January. The first sad little run was unpleasant. I had no energy and kept stopping to cough.
I'm feeling really frustrated. I'm in worse shape than I was on January 1st and we're 6 weeks closer to the Pig. I don't want to start over. I don't want to get on the hamster wheel. I have serious cabin fever. Winter blows.
And yes, I would like some cheese to go with my whine :)
